Position Title: CAD Technician (Civil Engineering)
Duty Station: Headquarters, Area 14, Lilongwe
L Gravam Consulting Services Ltd., an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Civil Engineering Company invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated candidates for the position of CAD Technician (Civil Engineering).
The successful candidate will support civil engineers in the preparation and management of engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other CAD software, primarily for projects in roads, water supply,
and irrigation. Knowledge in building drawings will be an added advantage.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
● Produce, edit, and manage civil engineering drawings for roads, drainage, water supply, and irrigation projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
● Prepare plans, profiles, cross-sections, setting-out drawings, typical details, and construction drawings in line with project requirements.
● Develop and maintain Civil 3D models including surfaces, alignments, corridors, and pipe networks; support quantity outputs where required.
● Convert design inputs (survey data, engineer mark-ups, sketches, calculations) into accurate CAD deliverables.
● Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards, client requirements, and relevant engineering specifications.
● Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and an organized CAD filing system; manage plotting/printing and PDF issuance.
● Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and other team members to ensure drawing accuracy and timely delivery of outputs.
● Assist with preparation of as-built drawings and updates based on site feedback. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
● Minimum of a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a reputable university/college.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD (exposure to other CAD software is an advantage).
● Good understanding of civil engineering concepts and drawings, particularly in roads, water supply, and irrigation.
● Ability to interpret survey information and engineer mark-ups with high accuracy and attention to detail.
● Good time management, ability to meet deadlines, and strong teamwork and communication skills.
● Added advantage: knowledge/experience in building drawings.
